Parents Overview

Students at the recent Halloween field trip

At Russell Bede School, we invite parent participation. We offer several ways parents can become involved in their children’s academic experience:

A parent teacher organization that serves as a resource and communication tool for parents and assists in fundraising. This organization also fosters a sense of community by organizing events such as family dinner nights and holiday parties for the students.

A monthly newsletter informs parents and members of the school community about calendar events, fun happenings, new students, meetings, field trips, hot lunch menus, fund raisers and more.

Volunteer activities such as working on the student garden, field trip driving, classroom projects, a fundraising committee and more.

Educational meetings that help parents better understand their child’s special needs. We alert parents to talks by special education experts, developmental psychologists, authorities on learning disabilities, and other subjects such as high-functioning autism, Asperger’s syndrome, attention deficit disorder and more.

An online parent/faculty community group with discussion boards, calendars, homework tips and email distribution list.
